HDFAS was established in 2000 as an independent society associated with NADFAS. We currently have about 150 members drawn from all parts of the London Borough of Hillingdon, together with the neighbouring boroughs and counties.
The Society's main purpose is to enhance its members’ appreciation of our artistic heritage and cultural influences, from the British Isles and further afield, in the company of other people with similar interests.
The principal activities of the Society each year are a programme of ten monthly lectures, three Special Interest Days during the course of each year, and at least three or four Outings to galleries, museums, historic houses and other places of interest.
The Society also seeks to provide support for community involvement in our artistic heritage through our Young Arts projects and through our involvement in Hillingdon Arts.
All members receive copies of The NADFAS Review, a a glossy magazine published three times a year, packed with arts news, including exclusive features by leading arts writers.
Society members also receive a NADFAS Membership Card which gives access to a range of special offers and entitles members to discounts on entrance to many galleries and museums across the UK.
Membership costs just £54.00 per year, excluding Special Interest Days and Outings. Visitors are welcome to attend Lectures at a cost of £7.00 per time. Lectures take place at the Winston Churchill Hall, Ruislip on the second Wednesday of the month, beginning at 2.00 pm.
There are no Lectures in April or November. Special Interest Days and Outings are limited to Society members but may be opened to guests if not fully subscribed.
